Time to scratch the itch: Nastar Open 2013?

I had heard some speculation a little while ago that the 2013 Open is likely to be at Wachusett again in January even though there had been talk at Nationals of the Open being farther north in Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine. Is there any idea of what Nastar is going to do or when they will announce the dates? There were many complaints last year that they did not announce the Open until late December which could not have helped attendance so I was wondering if that might be corrected this year.

Yes, Wachusett would be great...nearby and don't have to worry about lodging or anything. Just get up early and be there in 40 minutes max. Wachusett did a great job with the event last season. Lots of fun and if it's there again and format is the same (with the individual open races on Saturday), we'll be good to go!

I agree... good time last year at Wachusett. They did a wonderful job keeping the hill up to par with the lack of base and warm temps. Alot of other places in the Northeast would of had a difficult time. I would go back to Wachusett, same goes for Okemo or Stratton.

I am sure that the Okemo crew working NASTAR will put on a great event for the racers. For those who haven't been to Okemo, you won't be disappointed as it is a true mountain resort.

Thanks for the kind words Bill. We're looking forward to hosting a great event. I'll post some additional info shortly.

I'm excited! Pat, can you suggest a good place to stay?

Good question. I know of one with low rates but just did a check on TripAdvisor and the reviews weren't very good. NASTAR.com should have a link to discounted lodging as soon as it's worked out.
