    Day 3 - Getting better

    "Live from the hospital bed"

Well, the medical staff said the the pain would be intense once the Femoral Block wore off.......... They were not kidding!! Last night was really rough. I have a very high tolerance for pain. This stuff serious business. It definitely got my attention.

Today, I worked with the PT on both muscle and joint stretches. Ow!!! I moved quickly away from the walker and onto Crutches. Much easier to navigate the hallways.

The BEFORE Picture of my ugly knees.

Here's the non-offensive photo of the day. Lots and lots and lots of swelling. Did I mention swelling?

I get to go home tomorrow.

Day 5 - It's good to be home.

Susie broke me outta the joint yesterday afternoon after another torture session with the Physical Therapist.

The knee is still swollen, but I am seeing great improvement already. Today, I made some gentle passes on my Lifecycle, stationary bike. That really hurt!

If you look in my post above, I also added a "BEFORE" picture of my knees to give you a perspective on the volume of swelling.

I have also take 2 shots of the screws that were in my Left Tibial Plateau for 28 years. The screws are in perfect condition.

I am looking to start my external PT on Monday with a group of guys who used to be trainers for the Broncos.

If all continues as planned, I am just 9 1/2 days from surgery #2!!

    Stay tuned.........

Bear, none of this can be fun but hopefully it will have you back and better than ever next year. On a related note, are you going to have those screws mounted or are you going to use them to mount some new ski racks?

By the way, couldn't you have saved the pain of surgery and just had Tim Tebow lay his hands on your knees?

    Hee, hee.

I am a huge Timmy fan, but we have Peyton now. My daughter started back at Broncos camp yesterday. She called me to say: "Dad, he is a GIANT!!"

I had to correct her and say, no honey that would be Eli......... Har, har.

But seriously, Peyton is a huge guy!!

If you could do this on those defective knees I can only imagine what you'll be able to do on new knees!
