This past Monday Night Racing in CT was renamed Monday Night Bowling. The DNFs were too many to count. Almost everyone lost a half to a full second on their second runs, that is those who actually completed a second run. I was 10th from the end in a list of 90 racers for my first run. Can't remember when I've skidded so bad on a race course.

It's 57 degrees in Hartford on February 1. I'm officially designating this as TWTNW (The Winter That Never Was)

Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day. Be sure to visit the NASTAR Forum tomorrow for a special event.......

Yup, we're looking at high 20's at night and low 40's during the day for the next 5 days. Racing tommorrow night should be interesting - and sloppy.

Biggest thing in these conditions is to be careful..........just remember, that he who skis, and skis away, lives to ski another day!

It's funny you would say that Pat, I was thinking exactly the same thing this morning as I left the house - the winter that never was. It was in the 50's yesterday here as well and the snow has been melting in the city. The winter will be over before we get much fun out of it.

The snow at Chestnut is really good though, they have made so much there is a nice base and it is holding up. And skiing in Marquette will be great - real snow!

It hasn't snowed in about a week, but I heard on the news last night that although we are behind average in overall snowfall, January was actually right on par with average. We had over 63" in January.

The ski area is perfect. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Here is my first race on my FIS GS skis. As usual, tough conditions with huge offset, and technical un-harmonious turns. However, I have to say that skiing on "real" GS skis was a cool feeling, and quenched my boredom. These skis are alot more stable than my other ones.
