Carve Diem!! Charge The Course!!
This should be a great event, I hope anyone sitting on the fence decides to go. Particularly since you can register at the event. You won't regret it!
Best of luck to all of you Open racers. Racerchick I hope you win it all for the midwest - ski fast!

Hope they get more racers. Not yet to the levels of the first open held at crystal, I would like to make one suggestion to NASTAR on this as a person who participated in both opens at crystal. If you have 2 or more skiers that run in the gold or bronze bracket and you can fill a podium with platinum or silver, please consider createIng that bracket for gold or bronze. Based on participation levels, probably only happen in a few age groups.Example, in the male 40 to 44 at crystal last year, there were 4 platinums and 3 or golds based on how they ran and a couple silvers.Platinums and golds were lumped together, 1st thru 3rd of 7 or 8 got podium. Skip over the golds, then silver bronze lumped together for a podium. Seemed silly since we had enough racers that ran in both platinum and gold to round out a podium without mixing medal classes.Just a thought. I do like the fact that you get bracketed in a group based on how you run that particular day.
Daughter getting pumped. Can never afford to go to Nationals so she's excited to be able to get to this. Haven't been able to get to the first few Opens as they usually conflict with her usual weekend race day but not this year. We're looking forward to it!
Does anyone know if the $10 lift ticket will apply for tomorrow's clinic?

Wonderful day - and we get to do it again tomorrow!
Despite temperatures hovering near 50 Wachusett Mountain had ample snow on the course. It was a lot of fun reconnecting with racers from past events and meeting new folks.
Since my "suits" handicap was high after last Thursday's trials at Hunter Mountain I made three runs in the morning to get a more accurate HC. A half dozen other pacesetters joined me. I had a thrill when I got my first single digit HC against AJ.
In the afternoon I raced on skis and board and happily won both events.
Here's a slideshow of shots of the event so far.
Tomorrow we hold the team event. Can't wait. I hope to have some more pictures to post.
