Voelker... He's won that DH a number of times.

I wasn't planning on staying for the DH on Sunday, but I guess it isn't totally out of the question. It is just SO MUCH waiting around....

Only 400 entries and two courses.
Lots of folks do their pre run in the beer tent.
    It's pretty entertaining, really.
    My best time was 44.6.
Good enough for a 2nd in the 40-44 class.
Jamie should take 6 seconds or so off that.

AWESOME, awesome race day! The conditions literally could not have been better.... 29 degrees, bright sunshine without a cloud in the sky. ROCK hard snow (some would call it ice), and REAL GS courses. It's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but the courses had a vertical distance of 24 meters, with an appropriate offset for the slope of the hill. This hill is by no means steep, but the course was set so you could achieve good speeds but still had to know how to turn. Cary Adgate set the courses... he's set a few in his day....

The race day started out awesome with both of my kids going down first as the forerunners! They were REALLY pumped. It was unexpected, and it really made their day.

In the men's overall individual race, Dakine forgot about one of the local superstars.... Eric Behan. He pretty much smoked the field. I really wish my buddy Ben could have made it to this race. It would have been an epic battle between those two... Ben isn't really mortal either.

On the women's side, it was much closer, but guess who came out as the overall fastest? MY WIFE, Christie!! Great skiing... It was awesome to watch. She really went for it.

Excellent event as usual... there were 13 teams of 7.. almost 100 racers. I couldn't find enough racers to come down from Marquette, so Christie and I got on a team with a few of our good friends from the Petoskey area, and we WON! Great way to end a season.

I uploaded some photos to facebook... Here is the public link: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...3&l=1d998bfd88

I think they said they would put the results on the Boyne website... I'll post a link when it's live.

    Jamie:

The picture of the trophy crew was pretty impressive! Thank goodness Christie was there to class up the joint. She's really skiing well this winter, huh? Give her a BIG CONGRATS from me!!

Great to see Cary Adgate in person. I've heard so much about him over the years.

Course looked great, nice offset on the gates.

    Congrats to you, of course.

Yeah, we had a solid, solid team for sure... We took second, third, fourth, and ninth for the guys, and 1st for the girls.

Christie was super pumped. In our race league, we have 3 or 4 women that are literally just as fast as the fast guys, so being the fastest girl in Marquette is pretty tough.

Cary was amazing as usual. He hasn't raced a lot lately, so I thought I might finally have a shot at him... He beat me by about 3 tenths per run. I've got no problem with that! :)

    Congrats again.

    You guys ski'd great.

We took third in the silver divison as a team. Heather was third overall out of the ladies. I ski'd like total shit. Not really sure why just had a real bad day.

    It was fun though!!!!!
