    TeamOkemo

It was a bright but chilly day at Okemo and some of the best snowboard racers in the Northeast showed up today and turned in some sizzling runs.

Great looking group! One of our snowboard racers (WIL6026) today at Paoli Peaks commented on your snowboard gated Nastar arena (as we made him dual course with regular gates) and gave props to you! Too bad you guys aren't closer and I'd make you give me lessons on my Volant SL w/TD1's. I always talk to Arden at Nationals and wish I were as good as you guys! Guess I'll have to stick with skiing! :)

    Pat,
I met Mark on Saturday at Wachusett. He laid down some very fast times on the board. We got to talking at the start shack and he told me he was headed for Okemo on Sunday. I asked him to send you my regards.

He did indeed convey your message. We had a fun day today. I paceset both the ski and snowboard course on my skis and then switched to the board.

My son in law had the fastest run of the day (on skis). If you're at Wachusett for tomorrow night's race, look him up. My daughter made her first trip ever down a race course and my three year old grandson spent his first day on skis - he even rode the chairlift!

    It was a terrific day.

Wish you were closer! I'll tell Arden you said hi.

I've scheduled a two day clinic at Okemo on Feb 18-19 with a coach who has trained international snowboard racers. We'll have classroom instruction and video analysis of our runs.

Unrelated - take another look at the photo above. The guy on the left was running the course when we took the group picture so I PhotoShopped him in later. You can see that his shadow is at a different angle from the others.

Check out the board the guy on the right is holding. It's 185 cm long! Dwarfs the maroon 178 cm one I'm holding. That's many-time National Champion Scott Maynard. My pacesetting time on skis on the snowboard course was 20.84. Every one of Scott's times that day were in the 21 second range. He is blazing fast.

Real nice photoshop job! Hard (real hard) to even tell without your confession!
