    Hey I'm back.

I had a lot of fun and a great coach. He is a former swedish national team coach, and he really knew his stuff. I'm sorta clueless on his name's spelling, but its something like Juke N.....Pheneticly...his whole name sounds like "you walk em nude"...or "you walk em noodle"

I demoed some Slalom skis, Volkls, Salomons, and Elans. I was very impressed with the Elans, they were very stiff, and very quick.

    Mike,

They did a few timed runs, but I never found out my time on them
My coach was big on getting me forward (as all my coaches are), but this guy actully knew what drills I should do to get me there.

No pics cause I didn't bring a camara, but there were some things I wish I could have taken a pic of. It was really nice. Most mornings the clouds were in all the valleys around mt hood, and you could see the tops of the other mountains/hills. And the last day the wind was blowing and the way the clouds were coming and going was really cool.

I think that answered all your questions 8)

Which Elan's did you like? The Fusion series with integrated binding systems were pretty good last year. Were they new models for the up coming year or last years left-overs? The story I heard, from a knowledgable rep, was Elan was switching binding companies this coming year since Marker was not willing to work with them. They are moving to Tyrolia for this coming year.

    Summer skiing. I'm so

Just curious.. what drills did the coaches have you do to get you forward? Which ones worked? (Why did they seem to work for you better than others you've tried?)

    RS:
The Elans I tried were the SCX (or something like that), with elan bindings.
I believe they are 2005 model, not left overs.

    Bob:
My coach was a big fan of 2 things. First one was the sliding turns drill. Where you make very short turns (like carved SL turns), but insted of carving the turns you just skid them making sure you are in the front of the boots when you do it, with your hands out infrount of you. Your turns should all come to be perpendicular to the fall line before you start your next one. Then after a while of those you start making short carved turns, and make sure your really pushing the outside knee forward.
This drill you really have to give some time to (all my warm up runs I did it, and he told me to do it the first 5 runs of each day for the rest of my life :o )

Ehhh I bet he explained it a lot better than I did, but hes the coach

    And the second thing:
Was the constant threat of him sending me down to the parking lot also helped

My turn. It's 90 degrees with life-draining humidity. The thought of doing a few runs....... ahhh

Signing off until the 9th. I'll bring a camera, just in case. And, of course, I'll do a run for each of you.
