The racing today was great, not a cloud in the sky all day. I have a sunburn it was so sunny!

Forum members cleaned up today; Cinciracer, Chase, RacerChick and her husband, Great Banana, Team Hub and I all won medals, as well as new race clinic friends that are not on the Forum (yet). I may have forgotten someone, if so they can let you know. There was a 99 year old man who raced on Cheers and is amazing. I will post pics when I get home. He didn't look a day over 80 and raced really well. There were about 100 racers overall.

I am in the Race of Champions tomorrow with other Forum members and am excited. This event was a huge success, it has been great. Off to get a glass of some homegrown Michigan Zinfandel at the Thistle, the Nastar party is still going on at the Crystal Center.
Got to get rest for racing and the drive back to Chicago tomorrow.

Great job by Crystal and Nastar staff. All went well. My girls placed 1st & 3rd, in the Gold/Plat div. My son raced very well, but did not place in the top 3. EVERYONE I spoke to had a terrific time. Most importantly, I saw a ton of smiles

additional forum members in ROC are CHI, Bannana, Racer Chic, Chase, my son (not a forum member) and myself

Perfect North Slopes / OVSC did well. We had 4 1st's and a pair of 2nd's - so amongst freinds and forum members, I feel as if I had dinner with the stars.

Best part of day, watching my son carve every turn and post his best result YTD

Best part of the night, having picture taken with son both wearing golds knowing we get to race each other tomorrow...he is already talking smack as I wax his ski's.

Funniest part of the night for me... they were giving away saucer wax as a door prize, i was truely hoping not to win the stuff (too much money in swix to change now) I didn't I won an ice scrapper from nordica (Way cool) So my son wins saucer wax.....then he tells AJ, "My dad said I can't have the wax, how about the technica t-shirt?" (This is a kid that won't even order his own Big Mac becuase he is shy, but he nad no problem talking to AJ.

Enjoyed putting more faces with names....we're coming for you tomorrow bananna!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you all had an awsome day. Good luck to all forum members tomorrow! Can't wait for the pics. Actually, I got in the gates (and on the snow for that matter) for the first time for this season, today. Conditions out here are phenomenal. Sounds like you had perfect weather and conditions. I hope we get so lucky...

It was a great weekend of racing and meeting more fellow racers. My son also had an exciting weekend with his first ever high speed chair ride and a bronze medal for his efforts. I purchased some awsome pics from the photog at the banquet and I am looking forward to the pics being posted on the forum.

Hello Forum friends! Back in Chicago, made it home in 5 hours, its a good drive in good weather.

The Nastar Open was so much fun, I did not want to see it end. The Race of Champions was tons of fun. We had to leave for Chicago so I did not see the men's racing, but we women had a great time. Again, we had marvelous weather. A big shout out to Bill Madsen, AJ Kitt and the whole Nastar gang, as well as the Crystal Mountain race crew for a fabulous event that was enjoyed by all!

I have pictures to post. I don't know how to make a slideshow like Pat Moore but he did show me how to post pictures at Nationals last year so I will do that with the pictures I have and hopefully it will work. They fall into two categories, pictures of Buck and pictures of Forum Friends and race clinic friends. Sorry for those who raced on Cheers, I did not get any shots. First the Forum friends and others:

The oldest and youngest racers, Louis Batori at age 99 years and Hunter Ambrosen in the 1-4 age category:

CinciRacer,Jr., CinciRacer, RacerChick's husband Rodney, RacerChick:

    Great Banana and his Son:

Chase and Betsy the wife of a guy in our race clinic who Chase graciously let into his picture:

A few of the people from our race clinic with AJ and Dan, the CM race instructor, all of us won medals and we feel the race clinic was so good it helped us do that. The only forum member is me, on AJ's right arm:

The four of us ladies are race clinic friends, hopefully all will be Forum members soon. Between the four of us we won almost all of the gold medals given in the female 40-54 age categories, the race clinic really helped! Veronica, Kristen, Judy (ChiTownChick) and Nancy. Kristen from Minnesota won the raw time women's Alpine title today at the Race of Champions:

I missed pictures of TeamHub and Skimamma and her adorable children...sorry! I will post pictures of Buck in the next post so you can all see what a lovely run it was.

Ok, I am on a roll, now on to pictures of Buck and our beautiful race day on Saturday. RacerChick my batteries died when I tried to get the shot of all of you on the podium today so I apologize for not having a picture of you up there. Congratulations on your medals today in the Race of Champions!

Here is lovely Buck, actually it looks flatter here than it is and it is a wonderful run. We we were lucky to have raced on it. Notice the blue, blue sky? Amazing!

    Start Gate on Buck:

    Finish Area:

Another view, it was perfectly groomed for the race:

That's all folks, I am not the photographer Pat Moore is but you can get a feel for how much fun we all had and what a great even this is. Ok, Eastern Open people, its your turn now! If you are still undecided about going you should go if you can! Its tons of fun. I sure hope we have another Midwest Open next year. Thanks so much Bill, AJ, Crystal Mountain and all for a great time.
