Ok... Last season Racer X *promised* a trip to the U.P. this winter.... I know a few other forum regulars said they might be convinced as well.

I'll do all the planning, and depending on numbers, some discounts on both Nastar and lift tickets. We also do on-hill catered parties at our various fireside decks. Parties include beer, hot wine, brats, burgers, cheese and crackers, etc...

So the event would include a private, group Nastar race on Saturday and Sunday (followed by a reset, and public Nastar both days), on-hill party (Saturday), then a guided tour of the "mountain" by our friendly race staff!

I know we have a lot of forum regulars who are a day trip away from Marquette... If you haven't been here, you should seriously consider it! Who is in (pending $$, and dates?)

Racer X
IN.Racer
Bittersweetracer
Dr. Pete
Great Banana
SnowHot
Volklgirl
ChiTownChick
JPL (I know he doesn't hang out here much, but he's a pacesetter, and fast!! Jim?)
AlpineFox

I"m sure I'm missing some others.... sorry!

Plus, I know JTBear wants to make it up here, too... What do you say?

Anyone that is interested, throw out some dates that might work....

You've got my attention. When are you looking to hold this meeting?

My calendar is tight in December, so I'd vote for sometime in 2009.

Definitely '09....

The weekend of Jan. 24th and 25th won't work for me (Squaw Valley).... and the weekend of Feb. 7th and 8th (Jackson Hole) won't work. Other than that, I'm fairly open.

I've actually planned ahead and made reservations in Marquette for the weekend of March 14/15. Of course this can be cancelled and moved to another weekend. I was going to talk with you about this next Thursday.

Actually, that wouldn't be a bad weekend... The weather is usually pretty nice by then, and always plenty of snow still. I checked the calendar, and there aren't any special events that weekend, so it would be all us...

Anyone else?

Awesome Jamie.

Russ and I talked about this last spring, and have the weekend of March 14/15 penciled in.

We will be there.

Hope the rest of you can too.

If the weekend of March 14-15 is no good, I am available most weekends except the 16-19th of January and the 6-8th of February. Someone will just have to talk to Cary and make sure they don't schedule the Adgate Cup at Boyne the same weekend.

Bear, you've got to make this - this will be THE NASTAR event in the midwest this winter.

Good to start this now. Kudos.

Thanks Jamie for including me, it sounds like fun. I can't commit this far ahead because of my work schedule but once you all decide on a date I will see if it works for me. Sounds like a great time!

We get tons of ski club buses up from Chicago throughout the season. Our biggest Chicago weekend is the CMSC race. (Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council) That's a great group if you enjoy recreational racing. I've been racing with them for years. They have tons of age and ability categories so everyone is competitive... Take a look at some of the past results and you'll see what I mean. The times have a very wide range.

They will be in Marquette the weekend of Jan. 31st this year.

I'm bumping this back to the top just as a reminder. March 14th and 15th it is.... If there is interest, we can set a "Super Nastar" on our FIS hill. It would be great training if you are heading to Nationals.
