For those of you that ARE NOT going to be able to make it to nationals this season  , there are still a couple of premier midwest events to attend:
Saturday, March 10th
The Dan Hornbogen Memorial Race at Marquette Mountain
This is an all day race beginning with a run of "Downhill" in the morning, followed by one run of Super G, one run of GS, and finishing with one run of Slalom. All times are added together for an overall time. Trophies are given for the top 3 overall as well as the top 3 in each age and gender category. At the conclusion of the race, thousands of dollars of equipment and prizes are raffled off to all competitors!
See www.marquettemountain.com for details.
Saturday March 24th
Miller Lite League Championships at Boyne Highlands
This is a huge team event featuring two runs of GS, combined time. Each team has 7 members. The team time will consist of the fastest 5, one of which must be female.
Many, many great prizes and some of the best competition in the midwest. You must be 21 to enter. There are two divisions: Gold and Silver.
Sunday, March 25th
Boyne Highlands Downhill
VERY fun event!!! Usually more than 400 participants!!! Depending on age group, the course is either set down the run "Mac Gully" or the big boy.... "Olympic." The fastest racers on the Olympic course routinely reach speeds of over 70 MPH!
All these events are open to anyone. If you haven't got your fill of racing for the season, and aren't headed to Steamboat, these races are a good time.
Let me know if you have any specific questions about any of these events.
